Big the Musical follows the 12 year old Josh Baskin, a pre-teen adolescent hungry for excitement. During a carnival, Josh throws a coin into the Zoltar fortune-telling machine, wishing to be ‘big’. The next morning, he awakes to find the machine really did grant his wish. Josh is now a 30-year old man who must face the consequences of adult life. But is the endless quest to find a job and girlfriend worth it? Is being an adult really all it’s cracked up to be?
Tom Hanks played Josh in the 80’s film, receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. The coming-of-age tale remains wildly popular and among Hanks’ top films to date. Now with added zest and transformed for theatre, Big is retold with music for a fun family extravaganza.
Reprising his role from the Broadway debut, The Wanted’s Jay McGuire will once again play Josh. Other stars in the lineup include Wendi Peters (Coronation Street), Kimberley Walsh (Girls Aloud) and Matthew Kelly (Stars in Their Eyes). The TV and music stars have been part of fantastic West End shows, such as White Christmas, Elf the Musical, Shrek the Musical and Of Mice and Men.
Due to be a West End hit, the feel-good show makes a classic film even more fantastic. Don’t miss out and get tickets to see Big the Musical today.
